Junjie Gavin Wu

Before moving to Macao, Gavin was Head of Department of Business English in Shenzhen. He is now a Lecturer (equivalent to Assistant Professor) and a Ph.D. Supervisor in the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Macao Polytechnic University. He is a Shenzhen High-Caliber Talent and a Vice President of PacCALL. Gavin sits on the organizing committee of various international associations such as iLRN, GLoCALL, and ChinaCALL.

He serves on the editorial board of several leading journals such as British Journal of Educational Technology (SSCI, Q1, IF= 6.6), IEEE Transactions on Learning Technologies (SCI, SSCI, & EI, Q1, IF=3.7), Computers and Education: Artificial Intelligence (EI & Scopus, Q1), IJCALLT (ESCI & Scopus, Q1), TESL-EJ (Scopus, Q1), Computers & Education: X Reality (DOAJ), and International Journal of TESOL Studies. Gavin has authored over 40 English publications, with around 20 papers appearing in SSCI journals. He also edited books with Routledge and Springer and spearheaded over 10 special issues.

Gavin keynoted over 15 conferences and seminars in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, South Korea, Malaysia, and Japan. Very recently, he was invited as a keynote speaker at The Second AR/VR Education Conference, organized by the Shenzhen AR Technology Application Association.

​

He has over 6-year, full-time tertiary teaching experience in Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macao. Additionally, he is an award-winning teacher in Guangdong Province.
