Junjie Gavin Wu

Before moving to Macao, Gavin served as the Head of the Business English Department in Shenzhen. He is currently a Lecturer (equivalent to Assistant Professor) and a Ph.D. Supervisor in the Faculty of Applied Sciences at Macao Polytechnic University. Gavin is recognized as a High-Caliber Talent in Shenzhen and holds the position of Vice President at PacCALL. Additionally, he is a member of the organizing committee for several international associations including iLRN, GLoCALL, and ChinaCALL.

He is an Executive Editor of Springer Nature Social Sciences (Scopus, Springer) and an Executive Associate Editor of Computers & Education: X Reality (Scopus, Elsevier). He serves on the editorial board of several leading journals such as British Journal of Educational Technology (SSCI, Q1, IF= 6.7), IEEE Transactions on Learning Technologies (SCI, SSCI, & EI, Q1, IF=3.7), Computers and Education: Artificial Intelligence (EI & Scopus, Q1), IJCALLT (ESCI & Scopus, Q1), TESL-EJ (Scopus, Q1), International Journal of TESOL Studies (Scopus), Multimedia-Assisted Language Learning (KCI), and Digital Applied Linguistics (Castledown). Gavin has authored over 50 English publications, with around 25 papers appearing in SSCI journals. He published books with Routledge and Springer, and spearheaded over 10 special issues.

 

Gavin has delivered keynote speeches at more than 30 conferences and seminars in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, South Korea, Malaysia, Japan, and the Philippines.

Furthermore, Gavin has had over 8 years of full-time tertiary teaching experience in Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macao. He is also an award-winning teacher in Guangdong Province.
