Junjie Gavin Wu

Before moving to Macao, Gavin served as the Head of the Business English Department in Shenzhen. He is currently a Tenured Assistant Professor and a Ph.D. Supervisor in the Faculty of Applied Sciences at Macao Polytechnic University. Gavin is a High-Caliber Talent in Shenzhen and holds the position of Vice President at PacCALL. Additionally, he is a member of the organizing committee for several international associations, including GLoCALL, SICET, and ChinaCALL.

He is an Executive Editor of Springer Nature Social Sciences (Scopus, Springer), an Executive Associate Editor of Computers & Education: X Reality (Scopus, Elsevier),  an Executive Associate Editor of Artificial Intelligence in Language Education (Castledown), and a Co-Editor of the book series Digital Applied Linguistics (Routledge). Gavin has authored over 60 English publications, with around 25 papers appearing in SSCI/SCI journals. He published books with Routledge and Springer and spearheaded over 10 special issues.

 

Gavin serves on the editorial board of several leading journals such as British Journal of Educational Technology (SSCI, Q1, IF=6.7), Interactive Learning Environments (SSCI, Q1, IF=3.7), Language Learning & Technology (SSCI, Q1, IF=3.5), Computers and Education: Artificial Intelligence (EI & Scopus, Q1), IJCALLT (ESCI & Scopus, Q1), International Journal of TESOL Studies (Scopus), Multimedia-Assisted Language Learning (KCI), and Digital Applied Linguistics (Castledown).

 

Gavin has delivered keynote and plenary speeches at more than 30 conferences and seminars in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, South Korea, Malaysia, Japan, and the Philippines.

Furthermore, Gavin has had over 8 years of full-time tertiary teaching experience in Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macao. He is also an award-winning teacher in Guangdong Province.

Gavin welcomes prospective doctoral students interested in technology-enhanced learning (e.g., AI & XR). Fluency in English is essential, and proficiency in 한국어 would be an additional advantage for candidates seeking to join my team.
